CJC-1295 & Ipamorelin blends: sourcing and COA guide
CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin are frequently studied together as a dual-secretagogue reference blend. Because the two peptides act on distinct pathways, laboratories evaluating the combination need clear provenance, verified purity for each component, and batch-level Certificates of Analysis. This guide covers what to look for.
Why the two are studied together
CJC-1295 is a long-acting growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) analog. Ipamorelin is a selective growth hormone secretagogue that binds the ghrelin/GHS-R1a receptor. In research models the two act on complementary pathways — GHRH-driven release paired with ghrelin-mimetic pulsatility — which is why the blend is a common subject of comparative in vitro and preclinical studies.
Because both peptides are frequently sold together, the sourcing standard has to cover both. A COA that only characterizes one component is not a COA for the blend.
Purity standards to require
- HPLC purity ≥ 98% for each peptide, reported separately — a single "blend purity" number hides which component is out of spec.
- Mass confirmation for both CJC-1295 (with or without DAC, depending on the variant) and Ipamorelin, with the expected monoisotopic mass documented on the report.
- Peptide content / net peptide reported alongside gross fill weight — lyophilized vials contain excipients and residual solvents, so gross mass alone overstates active content.
- Residual solvent and endotoxin results where the study design requires them.
Batch-level COA requirements
Every production batch should carry its own Certificate of Analysis. A COA that was issued for a different lot number, or a generic "typical results" spec sheet, is not a COA for the vials in hand. At minimum, a batch COA should include:
- Batch or lot number matching the label on the vial.
- Manufacturing date and expiration or retest date.
- Analytical method identifiers (HPLC column, gradient, MS mode).
- Signature or laboratory identifier for the analyst who released the batch.
